  • I’m already a CleanChoice Energy Community Solar customer, but I want to sign up for a payment arrangement plan with my utility. Will my Community Solar subscription be affected?

    No, your Community Solar subscription will not be affected if you sign up for a payment arrangement plan with your utility. The payment arrangement installment will appear as an additional line item on your electric bill along with your current charges.

  • I’m already a CleanChoice Energy Community Solar customer, but I want to sign up for Budget Billing with my utility. Will my Community Solar subscription be affected?

    A: Please read below for details for your utility:

    • Pepco - Yes, your Community Solar subscription will be affected if you sign up for Pepco’s Budget Billing program. You will still earn Community Net Metering Credits and you’ll see them on your monthly Pepco bill, but your monthly budget billing amount will not be lowered by your monthly community solar credits.. You will only see your community solar savings when your budget billing annual reconciliation occurs. You will still have to pay your CleanChoice Energy community solar bill for the value of your credits earned each month.
    • Xcel Energy - Yes, your Community Solar subscription will be affected if you sign up for Xcel’s Averaged Monthly Payment Plan. You will still earn Community Solar credits, but your bill credits will no longer appear on your monthly Xcel bill. 
      Instead of seeing savings monthly on your Xcel bill, you will only realize your savings when Xcel completes its annual Solar*Rewards Community true-up in March or April depending on your meter read cycle. You will still have to pay your CleanChoice Energy community solar bill for the value of your credits earned each month.
    • BGE - No, your Community Solar subscription will not be affected if you sign up for BGE’s Budget Billing program.
    • ConEd - No, your Community Solar subscription will not be affected if you sign up for ConEd’s Level Payment Plan.
    • Delmarva Maryland - Yes, your community solar subscription will be affected if you sign up for Delmarva’s Budget Billing program. You will still earn Community Net Metering Credits and you’ll see them on your monthly Delmarva bill, but your monthly budget billing amount will not be lowered by your monthly community solar credits. You will only see your community solar savings when your annual budget billing reconciliation occurs. You will still have to pay your CleanChoice Energy community solar bill for the value of your credits earned each month.
    • National Grid Massachusetts - No, your Community Solar subscription will not be affected if you sign up for National Grid’s Budget Plan.

  • I’m already on budget billing with my utility.  Where do I see my community solar credits on my bill?

    Please read below for details for your utility:

      • Pepco - Your community solar bill credits will appear under “Details of your Electric Charges” on Page 2 of your Pepco bill. Refer to our billing one-pager for our community solar farms in Maryland and Washington, DC for an example.  
      • Xcel Energy - Since you are on your utility’s Average Monthly Payment plan, you will not see Community Solar credits on your electric bill. However, you will still earn bill credits and your savings will be realized when Xcel completes its  Solar*Rewards Community true-up annually in March or April, depending on your meter read cycle. You will still have to pay your CleanChoice Energy community solar bill for the value of your credits earned each month.

      • BGE - Your community solar bill credits will appear under “Other Charges and Credits” on page 3 of your BGE bill. Refer to our billing one-pager for an example.

      • ConEd - Your community solar bill credits will appear as an adjustment under the Billing Summary section of your electric bill. Refer to our billing one-pager for an example.   
      • Delmarva Maryland -  Your community solar bill credits will appear under “Details of your Electric Charges” on page 2 of your Delmarva bill.  Refer to our billing one-pager for an example.

  • If I am receiving a discount off the community solar bill credit rate /credit amount, will I still see savings through Community Solar if I am on a payment plan with my utility?

    Absolutely.  Payment plans will have no effect on Community Solar subscriptions for customers in Xcel Energy, Pepco, Delmarva (Maryland territory), BG&E, ConEd, and National Grid (Massachusetts territory).
